We conduct cyclical training on safety at wind farms in Poland

In July, we organized a series of trainings on safety and evacuation from wind turbines on operating farms. The event is attended by firefighters from local PSP and TSO units from the area of Udanin, Linów, Rzepin, Września and Parzęczew. The content partner of the trainings is Wind Hunter Academy.

The well-being of employees is a key issue for us, which is why we periodically organize training on safety and evacuation from wind turbines. The courses are attended by technicians who work in wind parks on a daily basis. Firefighters from the local fire department and the nearest units of the State Fire Service are also invited to the training, who may be the first to appear at the site of a possible accident.

In our activities, we focus on the production of energy from renewable sources in order to achieve the energy transformation as soon as possible. At the same time, we do not lose sight of the safety of our employees, which is our priority. Currently, the accident rate in our company is low, in 2021 we recorded one minor incident, but we make every effort to constantly reduce dangerous accidents. Practicing emergency procedures regularly is the best way to increase your safety. – says Krzysztof Wojtysiak, CEO of Qair Polska S.A.

In the first stage of the course, participants learn about the construction of the turbine and the Main Collection Point, they receive information on the necessary personal protective equipment as well as work clothing and footwear, which are obligatory for people staying in the turbine and the entire park. Rescuers will also learn the rules of operating rescue devices used on turbines and alternative methods of evacuation in the event of a lack or failure of a rescue device.

After the theoretical part, participants of the training take part in practical classes on a selected turbine under the supervision of specialists from Wind Hunter Academy, who simulate dangerous situations. Exercises include training in procedures related to the threat to life and health of people inside the turbine and abseiling from the turbine.

The courses comply with the requirements and standards of the Global Wind Organization, which aims to develop a safe working environment in the wind energy industry.
